ROADTRIP: LONG WEEKEND IN PRAGUE

Only some weeks ago, my friends and I decided that it would be time for another girlstrip. As the most of us are traveling from Berlin and Munich, we thought that it would be best to meet in the middle – which is almost in Prague! A roadtrip from Berlin to Prague? Said, Done! 🙂 So four girls traveling together in a car you can imagine that we had lots of talking and gossiping to do. 😀 Haha. But on our way back, we were rather tired and so we decided to relax and listen to an audio book. Making our decision at audible, we went for the new Sherlock Holmes audio book. Certainly, the time flew by so that we suddenly found ourselves back in Berlin. 🙂
But before we get back to Berlin – here we go with some of my Prague Tipps! ♥

BREAKFAST & BRUNCH IN PRAGUE

By now, I think you already know that I am a huuuuuge Breakfast & brunch Lover. So of course, it has been on my agenda to find some nice breakfast places for us in Prague. As we went over the weekend, lots of places were really crowded. For example, as we wanted to go to Café Savoy, the place was already booked until 4 pm (on a sunday). But we found a perfect alternative just around the corner: The Café Lounge. They offer many nice egg dishes (Poached Eggs as well!) and you need to try the fluffy Pancakes. (See Picture from the first collage above). The coffee is also really nice, so definitely a Must when coming to Prague.
The other day we wanted to test “Mujsallekkavy” which is also pretty famous for breakfast, But: they don’t serve it after 11am! So on a Monday, stranded in the northern part of Prague, we searched for an alternative. And we found: the Bistro Proti Proudu. And we weren’t disappointed: they also offer different egg dishes, perfect hummus, sandwiches etc. And not to forget: the awesome cakes and desserts (see pic above). And their interior is oh-so-stylish: check out the main picture of this post with the white table and cute decoration.

CAFÉS IN PRAGUE

As we usually had a big brunch/ breakfast situation, we often didn’t go for lunch. But in the afternoon the hunger came back and we tested some really nice coffee places. One of these cafés is the Styl & Interier which has been recommended to us by a local. Apart from having small dishes and some serious cake-porn, they also offer decoration and interior pieces for shopping.

Another famous café in Prague is the Bakeshop. This place is usually really busy, so bring some time and patience to find a nice spot to sit down and order what comes to your mind. Lots of different cakes, cookies, tartes and also salads and pastrys are awaiting you here. I went for the marble cheesecake and the red velvet cookie (as you can see above). 🙂

LUNCH & DINNER OPTIONS

styleappetite-travel-long-weekend-in-praguestyleappetite-travel-long-weekend-in-pragueSo one general fact: if you come to Prague its definitely easier if you’re not a vegetarian! 😀 Sorry, but with that said, you’ll soon understand why. Czech Cuisine means a lot of steak, sausages and everything else with meat. The first evening we went to Cestr as we heard about the perfect steaks and tartar. And to make it short: they definitely are perfection!! If you want to make sure to get a table, you should make a reservation (on the weekend). And leave room for lots of food, as you should order Tartar or Carpacchio for starters and a steak for the main course. 🙂 The design of the whole place is well-conceived with lots of wood and rustic charme.
The second evening we went for Burgers at The Tavern. It is said to be the best Burger Place in Prague and our expectations weren’t disappointed. They offer many different burgers and the fries were also on point. And apart from that, they serve some really delicious cocktails. So perfect for a girls night out!  🙂

SIGHTSEEING & SHOPPING IN PRAGUE

styleappetite-travel-long-weekend-in-prague

First I need to say that all five of us already went to Prague before. That’s why we weren’t too eager to do lots of sightseeing, as we already saw the most important spots. But of course there is no way around going up to the Prague Castle. I think this is also where I took most of the pictures, as you have such a nice view of the city. You can also find the “Golden Lane” there, but I would suggest you go there early in the morning or – like we did -after 6 pm. Otherwise it is too crowded and you need to pay 10 € entrance fee. Another place which is a must-see is the Charles Bridge. We also took a river trip, to get a different view of the city. Unfortuantely the boats are not allowed to go too far, so I only would recommend this if you’re a bit tired of walking arolund too much. 😉 For shopping you might want to go to Palladium Shopping Mall. Here you’ll find all big retailers. Another mall we liked is Nový Smíchov which also has Sephora and Stradivarius and somed more stores you won’t find in Germany.

I hope you liked this small Travel Guide for Prague. Have you already been there or are planning to go? And of course don’t forget to eat Trdlo (bottom left in the picture above)! ♥
