TRAVEL DIARY | MALLORCA PART 1 – PALMA

In my first part of my travel diary I am telling you my favorite tipps for visiting the capital of Mallorca :  the beautiful city of Palma.

The Sightseeing Part

Arriving in Palma, you should first go to the Cathedral “La Seu” , as it will get more crowded during the day. Its such a beautiful building, so make sure to take some photos from the other side of the little canal. If you want to go inside, you’ll need to pay 7 € entrance fee. In my eyes, it’s not really worth it, as I already saw more impressive interiors in churches / cathedrals. But it’s up to you – if you want to go inside, don’t forget to cover your shoulders/ legs a bit, even if it’s boiling hot outside. 😉

The old town of Palma

After our visit to the cathedral we just walked our way into the old town of Palma. This way you’ll get a better feeling of the beautiful little alleys and old streets of the town. Plus, you can stop along the way to catch an ice-cream here or a little tapas plate there… 😉  Typical souvenirs that we bought were spanish chorizo (sausage), jamon iberico (ham) and  fresh lemons and oranges.

Shopping in Palma

In the centre of Palma you’ll have lots of cute shops and retailers for getting yourself some souvenirs. Of course, all the spanish brands like Zara, Mango, Bershka, Stradivarius, Pull & Bear etc. are found here and sometimes you’ll be lucky to make a good bargain here and there.
Another shop you should visit is Ulanka –  a spanish shoe store, where I bought my lovely Pom-Pom Sandals. For buying swim wear and cute beach towels, you should go to Oysho. It’s the lingerie & swimwear brand of Inditex (Zara) and has lots of cute pieces.

So hopefully at the end of day you’ll have beautiful memories of the old city centre and the cathedral plus bags full of cute souvenirs for you and your loved ones. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading my tipps, as much as I enjoyed writing them down for you. What do you think about them?

Or have you already been to Palma and want to share something else?
