New York | Us Travel Plans, Esta Visa & More

Slow but steady my excitement is rising looking at the prospect of our upcoming travel to one of my favorite cities ever. I can’t wait to be back: in New York!! (You need to sing the part of “New York” like Alicia Keys in the same song 😉 #lol). It’s already my third visit in that city but my excitement doesn’t cease but gets even bigger whith every trip. My environment is already a bit stressed about my conscious excitement, so I thought I need to get rid of it somewhere else. And what better place than my creative outlet – the blog. So I’m sorry, but I needed to share with you my anticipation. But also for some other reasons, as to make sure that I get some more insider tips from you guys and that everything is done from my To do list.

New York memories

As mentioned before, I have been to New York already twice. The first time, one of my best friend and I came to visit it along with Washington and Boston. But after the first few days, we decided that we liked NYC wayyyy to much and stayed our full ten days in the city. (And definitely never regretted it!) My second visit was also quite special as it was boiling hot with more than 35 degrees in New York – but we made the best out of it anyways. So the pictures from this post are from my previous trips, which is why they might look a bit nostalgic. 😉

US entry: ESTA visa & more

One of the most important points on my to do list is the legal entry to the US. As an European citizen, you need to make sure that you get your ESTA visa to be allowed to travel in the US. (Side note: It’s not a visa per se, but actually a travel authorization.) If you need in general more information about travelling to the US, you might want to check out the Homepage of the US embassy.   As I need to apply not only for me but for my family as well, I’m more than happy that I found a helpful page to get me through the process of applying for ESTA.  The page is also available in different languages, which is why I’m so happy to get through all the requested materials in German – so much easier and the long process becomes child’s play. In general, you should plan ahead to get your ESTA in time (very latest you can apply 72 hours before departure). But even for very late cases, you could checkout the last-minute application for ESTA.

Of course there are multiple ways to apply for your visum for the USA (ESTA).   And in case you booked your trip on the short term, you can also try this way of last minute application.

New York travel plans

As I said: New York is one of my absolute favorites cities (next to my place of residence Berlin and a newly discovered love for Paris). So I can’t think of anything boring to do in this amazing city, actually. Whether it’s with an stunning view from Top of the Rockor in the middle of bustling Times Square: New York has something for each and every taste to offer. Well, I guess it even has too much to offer – which is why you need to plan carefully and select. But most of it all, I hope that I can convince my loved ones with my over-excitement about this city and that they will enjoy the time as much as I will do. 🙂 And on this note: does anyone have experience with the New York city passes that guarantee free entry for specific sights and were you happy about it?

So I definitely want to re-visit some of my favorite places but also discover many new sites, restaurants and neighborhoods. One of my favorite memories for example was the spontaneous visit of Coney Island with a dip in the ocean – you would never connect New York with a sunbath and swimming, right? And this is exactly what I mean: this city has so much to offer: so many different restaurants, cafs, vibes and local specialties and in general just sooo many opportunities to offer. Also, we will be celebrating my birthday in the Big Apple. So I definitely want to make some plans for that day too – hopefully a nice restaurant or rooftop bar. If you have any recommendations – let me know of course? Probably it’s quite hot in the middle of June and I just shouldn’t plan too much anyways. 😉

So if you have any insider tips for New York – please let me know babes! ?
