WEEKEND TRIP TO VIENNA

We booked our Citytrip to Vienna quite spontaneous, but it has been on our bucketlist for a while now. So the weekend before Valentinesday seemed like the perfect occasion for a little getaway.

We were lucky to find really good offer at Airberlin Holidays (we didn’t know until then that they do not only offer flights but also complete travel deals) and found ourselves at the Austria Trend Hotel Schönbrunn. We really enjoyed our stay there, the only thing is that you need to keep in mind that its not exactly in the city center, so you always need to take public transport/ car etc. to get into the city.

Even though our hotel included breakfast, I desperatley wanted to test the brunch at Ulrichs. Unfortunately it was too crowded, but we were happy to find a place at their second destination, Erichs. The Brunch there was really delicious- traditional meals with a certain twist, which is why we came back for a second time. 🙂

Of course we also did some sightseeing at the well-known places like Belvedere, Stephansdom, Hofburg and Schönbrunn of course. And also make sure that you have a piece of the one and only Sacher Torte at Cafe Sacher.  And how about a quick stop at the Naschmarkt? There are so many nice cafes and food places around here; one of our favourites was Neni.

For the shopping part you’ll find all the big retailers around Mariahilfer Straße, but also check out the little stores around Siebensterngasse/ Burggasse.

Another favourite cafe was the Motto am Fluss, which is perfectly located at the Donau. It offers so many nice brunch/ lunch/ dinner choices . We tried the blueberry cheesecake and peanut caramel brownies 🙂
