Focus Sustainability: Sandqvist
Sandqvist has been founded in 2004, initially as an experimental design project by three childhood friends (which I think is even more unique right?!). The aim of Sandqvist is to create practicality hand-in-hand with design, which also says their company statement:Ê
“Always a focus on challenging the role of functionality in design and practicing sustainability and respect for the environment at all times without compromising the aesthetics.”
And most of all, the Swedish founders believed – already back then – in the concept of sustainability and care for the environment.Ê
Sandqvist & Climate Impact Ê
A major contribution to the carbon footprint is the transport of goods so the goal of Sandqvist is minimizing the climate impact from transport by choosing the most environmentally-friendly transport options.
Also, minimizing the water usage is another big impact in the production. This is being done e.g. by strictly controlling the chemicals used throughout the supply chain and that water is conserved at all steps of production.
Alongside with a fully transparent supply chain, Sandqvist definitely thinks about sustainability and the environment as a whole concept- find more information here.Ê
In today’s post, I’m showing you two different outfits with two different Sandqvist bags. On the one hand, “Jeffrey” as a spacious black leather tote and on the other hand the small belt bag “Florens” in the perfect autumn red color.Ê
