SPRING TREND REPORT: STRIPES

Well to be honest stripes are never really ãoutÒ or a No-Go right? They are always a classic when it comes to the black-white horizontal stripes of the famous Bretagne shirt that Coco Chanel already picked up. But this season, stripes are different. They come in multiple colors and various color combinations. Furthermore they come not only horizontally but also in multiple ways like asymmetric or even de-constructed. And especially on (oversized) shirts, long and flowy dresses and skirts the striped pattern comes out in a new and modern way. Also a very stylish yet cool way to wear the new stripes trend: suits which are consisting of loose pants and blazers which are a totalo nobrainer for the office and still stylish and chic.

STRIPED DRESS & SOCK BOOTS

Actually todayÕs lok almost felt unusual for me. After all the black, white and red combinations in the past few weeks, I knew that it is time for something different. And while the outfit is still warm enough for these last winter days, itÕs also promising in a way due to the bold violet sock boots (which were one of my best sale finds btw). Also, maybe you remember my review some weeks ago where I shared my shopping experience at Reserved here in Berlin? So this dress was one of my first picks that immediately made it into my shopping basket as it is so versatile. ItÕs sophisticated with tights and pumps for the office but also stylish while pairing it with jeans and boots. (And by the way: IÕm wearing the dress the other way around. The pussy bow detail would actually be a bow in the back part but Ð accidentally this makes a great look as well right?! 😉 ) Completing the look, IÕm wearing my satin jacket (find another look with it here) and of course I couldnÕt resist but add the Gucci belt as well.

style-appetite-trend-report-streifenAbout todays shooting…

Apart from todayÕs outfit you can probably imagine that the shooting was pretty funny on the escalators right? 😉 To be honest, it was kind of a challenge to get the best shot while stairs were moving up and down and with people passing by (Éyou can imagine how many weird looks we received while shooting lol 😉 ). But the moving environment was quite refreshing and it also shows a different side, that I wanted to explore this year a bit more here on Style Appetite. To get out of my comfort zone, trying something new. I always get inspired by so many different impressions from magazines, pinterest, Instagram etc. but usually I only saved them into my inspirations folder or cut out the oage of the magazine and thatÕs it. But this year it will be different: this year I actually want to put them into practice and realize ideas that are flowing around in my head.

So what do you think Ð do you like these more editorial shoots? And maybe you can think of a shooting/ scenario that you always wanted to realize ? I hope you get inspired by this post to turn them into reality too.Ê ?
