So even though this coming spring might be in lockdown again – I’m more than ready to leave the Loungewear behind me and dive into new fashion trends for spring summer 2021! And as the last spring/ summer was not as fulfilling as we probably thought, many trends from last year will stay with us. So whether you’re into athleisure or tailoring or collars – there’s a fashion trend for everyone! Which one will be your favourte this spring summer 2021?
Fashion trend: Athleisure
Already last year this trend was super important and is influenced by the 90s and retro hype. Coming from the loungewear, it’s easy to mix and match it with pieces you already have in your closet. Best worn with sneakers or flats.
Fashion trend: New denim
Jeans or denim in general are never really out of style, are they? But this summer they’re having a huuuuge comeback. This time as baggy jeans, flared or loose fit. And they are even back as dungarees (yupp!) and denim dresses or even better: as a whole denim look from head to toe! ยง.
Modetrend: Tailoring
Suits and tailored pieces are just the perfect trend when you don’t know what to wear as they’re so easily combined. It’s an uncomplicated trend – also for every body type! So whether you go for neutral tones or a statement – the suits are even practical in hot weather when you’re combining them with shorts, bermudas or skirts. Also blazer vests or short blazers are perfect for warmer days.
Fashion trend: Collars
Statement collars or peter pan collars are here to stay – they make every look a bit a parisienne , don’t you think? It’s definitely a romantic detail, best in dresses or blouses or even sweaters.
Fashion trend: white and neutrals
Still one of the biggest trends ever since Jacquemus blew up! White dresses are an summer essential anyways, and this year they’l be more sculptural with tiny details, drapery and gatherings. The color palette also extends to beige and light brown tones as well as soft pastels.
Fashion trend: Bold Colours
The pendant to neutrals are green, pink and more bold colours! Just the right amount of color we needed in our lives after the long and grey winter right?! Neon might be not my cup of tea but could aslo be back. I’ll stay with some statement pieces like blazers and coats – they make a huge difference but are also easily to combine.
Fashion trend: Dad Sandals & Flats
One of the most argued trends last year: the dad sandals! Yes, they might look like you stole them from your dad or grandfather but – ever since Chanel gave them their classic- chic upgrade, all Fashionistas love them! You can wear them with almost everything and theyre sooo comfy ! If you’re looking for an alternative: try (platform) flats or flip flops.
Fashion trend: basket bags, nano bags and more
So regarding the handbag trends, there is not a clear winner. On the one side, basket bags are still a huge trend and just perfect to bring whatever you need (not only to the beach!). On the other side, Nano bags – that basically will only fit your lipstick and a chewing gum – are another “big” thing. (If “big” does even make sense in this context hehe).
