After our last two trips to Wolfsburg in early Spring and Summer this year, I was even more excited to see the Winter WonderlandÊat the “Autostadt”Ê. And we were definitely not disappointed when we entered the area again. The lake, where we were boating in summer and enjoying the sun has been turned into ice now! Kids and their parents ice skating with a huge Christmas tree being the center of it all – we couldn’t believe our eyes! There are Christmas lights everywhere, sparkling trees and the smell of fresh cookies and mulled wine. The are has definitely become Winter Wonderland!
Just besides the public ice skating, there is another smallerÊarea where professional ice dancers were showing their skills. There are several shows every night and it was so cool to see the artists in their sparkling outfits dancing and having so much fun. And I had even more respect for them when I was on my own ice skates the next day! It looked so easy and effortless when we were watching them but I definitely won’t become a professional ice dancer in this life anymore. 😉 That’s why you probably see me in all the pictures just standing or nervously looking around for something to hold on *lol.
After all the workout, it’s super easy to just pick a meal that you like and grab it at one of the many food stalls in the winter wonderland. Or if you like to sit next to the chimney as we did – you can just visit the “Alpenglueck”-hut, were we had delicious Schnitzel andÊGoulash.ÊTake a Mulled wine to go and then make your way to the illuminated tunnel, where you will also find the VW beetle in a snow globe.ÊÊFull and satisfied, we just fell into the enormous kingsize bed at the Ritz Carlton.
ADVENT WEEKEND AT THEÊRITZ CARLTON WOLFSBURG
The warm and inviting interior at the Ritz Carlton Wolfsburg was just the perfect choice for the third advent weekend. And our room and the spacious bed was even so comfy, that we overslept the first morning and cancelled our gym session *oopsy.Ê Maybe you still remember from my previousÊposts Êthat the fitness and spa area at the Ritz Carlton is absolutely stylish. That’s why the gym and the sauna wereÊthe perfect ending to a long and cold winter day. And with the thought of a more than delicious breakfast the next day, it was even easier to wake up in time again.
CHRISTMAS DINNER AT RESTAURANT TERRA
On Saturday evening, we also had the honor to try the Christmas dinner options at the Restaurant TerraÊwhich is part ofÊRitz Carlton Wolfsburg. We decided to try the duck as well as the deer, which both came with a modern twist like sweet potatoe and corn puree. An absolute enjoyable combination! As dessert we went for the apple tarte with vanilla icecream and salted caramel.
The Winter Wonderland at Autostadt Wolfsburg is still open until the 6th of January 2019! So grab your ice skates and I can’t wait to see your pictures from there. ?
Thanks to the team of Autostadt Wolfsburg & the Ritz Carlton for the invitation. This invitation didnÕt influence my review and this post reflects my own opinion.Ê
