Blogger Guide To New York – Eat, Sleep & Explore

Hey loves, finally I’m able to share a full post about our favorite spots to eat/ sleep/ explore in New York City. As you probably know, there are so many cool things to try and always new spots coming up. So after my latest NYC outfit shot in SoHo, here is now some of our absolute hot spots in the big Apple. If you have anything to add-  feel free to do so in the comments.

Blogger Guide New York: Eat

First things first: no New York trip would be complete without a proper breakfast. Whether it’s an indulgent French toast with loads of peanutbutter and chocolate or a healthy bowl – there are so many possibilities. And those who don’t like breakfast or brunch at all (will never understand though 😉 haha), can still grab a yummy lunch or dinner. Here we go.

The Harold  – perfect spot for breakfast but they also have an oyster happy hour.

Gregorys Coffee – Perfect coffee and cakes and their honey toast is amazing too.

Mercer Kitchen – Fancy spot for dinner in SoHo. Go for the Truffle pizza, it’s delicious.

Ludlow Coffee Supply – Fancy coffee shop in the heart of Bowery district.

Shake Shack – an absolute must for the burgers and cheese fries.

Lexington Candy Shop – one of New York’s oldest diners and the experience is truly retro. 😉

Bluestone Lane – Australian inspired breakfast cafÂŽ.

Maman – Girly spot for coffee and breakfast.

Fleur Room – Fancy rooftop bar at the Moxy Chelsea, where even Gigi Hadid was partying after the MET gala. Unfortunately it’s not open air though.

Arlo NoMad – Laid back alternative for a rooftop bar, open air and good cocktails.

Blogger Guide New York: Sleep

We stayed at the Moxy Chelsea, which freshly opened beginning of this year. The location is perfect as you have the lovely neighborhood around (Chelsea/ NoMad). With a 10 minutes walk you can either reach Times Square but also Flatiron – and Koreatown  is around the corner as well. We went for the King View room and were more than happy about the stunning view of Empire State Building! Of course the rooms are very small with limited space but I guess that’s just NYC right. 😉

Blogger Guide New York: Explore & Activities

The city that never sleeps – you heard this saying probably a hundred times but it’s oh so true! Whether you’re a fan of sports (doing or watching – both is perfect in NYC) or more into culture and arts. New York has it all and so much more! Also depending on the time you’re visiting New York, make sure you check out specific events and festivities. In Summer, you can visit many open air concerts, cinemas and music (sometimes even for free). But also in winter, you would enjoy skating on an ice rink or seeing the christmas lights.

Top of the Rock – no need to say more right. 😉 You can book your ticket online so you won’t need to queue.

Brooklyn Bridge – Walking across from Manhattan to Brooklyn (or the other way around) is a Must. Make sure to come early for good pictures and stay in the area of DUMBO right around Brooklyn Bridge.

MET – If you want to visit only one museum in NYC, this should be the one. Many different rooms and exhibitions. I was so happy to still visit the “CAMP”- exhibition which was part of the MET gala: so many amazing dresses and creations! They also have a free rooftop terrace to visit and don’t forget to visit the museum shop for some souvenirs.

Guggenheim – Our second favorite museum, the architecture is just amazing and loving the concept of the different rooms across the floors.

High Line – Start your walk at the Whitney museum in Meatpackign district and enjoy the different views from the High Line. At the end, you will see the newly build Hudson Yards with the giant “The Vessel” in copper.

Coney Island – Especially in spring and summer a must, as this feels like a whole different New York experience. The boardwalk with it’s retro shops and ferris wheel is so pretty! And of course you should try one of the famous Nathan’s Hotdogs.

Little Italy and Chinatown – should be on your list for lunch or dinner and a stroll through the colorful streets.

Central Park – the green oasis for each and every New Yorker. Check out a map and then walk as much as you can. If you get tired, take a rowing boat at the Boathouse.

Bryant Park – what an oasis in the middle of Manhattan. Also, you can find the Public Library and Grand Central Terminal right around the corner.

Baseball Game – I’ve been to the Yankees and the Mets too and both times it was so much fun. The whole atmosphere, the families, the Kiss cam – everything is exactly as in the movies (or the Sex and the City episodes haha).

Blogger Guide New York:  Shopping

To be honest – shopping has been better years ago when the dollar was weaker than it is now. But of course, New York still has a lot to offer in terms of shopping. If you’re into american brands, you should definitely take the ride to an outlet store outside of Manhattan. I was more into vintage shopping and finding some cute beauty stuff or in general brands, that are nit available in Germany.

SoHo – Nothing better than a shopping stroll through SoHo. Stop by  Glossier for their amazing lipbalm and beauty products. Also, Le Labo, ByRedo and many other cute shops and flagship stores can be found here.

Designer Vintage Shops  – are much more expensive than in Germany or Europe in general as I noticed quiet disappointed. But if you want to check out some cute Chanel bags anyways – go to The RealReal or What goes around comes around in SoHo.

The M jeweller – The 47th street is also called the Jewelry street of New York and as you enter, you will know why. Many small jewelry shops and you can basically get everything.

Frankie Shop & Reformation – Perfect little boutique shops right around the corner of Ludlow coffee supply. So get caffeinated and then try some cute dresses (Reformation) or oversized blazers (Frankie shop).

Macys and 21st century – for a bargain and a huge selection, these two shopping centers are your place to be (don’t get lost).

Iconic Magazine – for the biggest selection of newspapers and magazines ever.
