Amari Koh Samui| Hotel Review
At the buzzing area of Chaweng but still far enough from the crowds – the Amari Koh Samui definitely stands out with its amazing location on the island of Koh Samui. But not only the location speaks for itself but also the modern, clean ambiance of the properties. With a huge pool area and many cafés and restaurant options, there is even no need to leave the Amari. But to be honest after our first visit at the Amari Phuket 1.5 years ago, we already had big expectations. But see for yourself… . 😉
The Villas & Room options
There are many options to find the best suitable rom option for each and everyone! The resort is divided between the street of Chaweng into the oceanfront part and the so-called “Thai Village”, right behind. We stayed at the thai village part and were more than happy about the quiet but nearby location to the beach.
As we were staying in a Deluxe Pool View Room, we got to oversee the whole area of the second pool as well as the Thai village- like houses of the Amari. Another big plus was definitley the spacious balcony and the super short way to the pool. 😉 Of course there are many more options to chose from – also with ocean views right next to the b each of Chaweng.
Breakfast & Dining options
Starting the day in a right way – this is deffnitely not a problem at the Amaya breakfast restaurant with perfect views of the beach! With many different asian and western options at the buffet, no one is going to stay hungry here. Also, we were more than impressed by the friendly service and super attentive staff.
Another plus that we discovered during our stay: the Amaya offers amazing coffee and cake! The cocos cake became the absolute favorigte of my partner in crime, so we had to stay every afternoon for a piece. 😉 And of course that was totally fine with me, as the iced coffee was superb as well.
But the star of the Amari restaurants might be something else – the italian cuisine of PREGO.
PREGO Italian Restaurant
Ok so first let me say this: we are absolute fans of the thai kitchen and love to indulge in the traditional food while visiting and travelling. But I must also admit: after more than four weeks of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, I was also missing a good pizza and pasta (no shame 😉 ). So when we discovered the PREGO and it’s italian menu, we knew that we had to try their dishes.
Chef Marco created an exceptional italian menu that not only offers the perfect oven baked pizza but also (truffle!) risotto, amazing pasta and antipasti. So no suprise here that we no only ate once but twice at this place. (We had to try more than one dish – of course only for testing reasons. 😉 ) And the seafood platter as a starter was my absolute highlight!
Pool & Beach Area
As mentioned earlier, the Amari Koh Samui not only offer one but two spacious pools in the different hotel areas Therefore, you’ll never have the feeling that it get’s too busy at one of them. Moreover, the Amari also offers a private beach area with sunloungers, chairs and umbrellas if you prefer to be right at the sea.
And if you want to stay active, the hotel gym invites you to do so as well. And last but not least, tnhe Amari offers a special service in cooperation with their sister hotel, the OZO Chaweng beach.
OZO Chaweng Beach
The OZO ist just a 5-10 minute drive away and the transfer is free of charge. So if you’re craving a new surrounding, you should definitley use this service and get to know the white and blue interior of the OZO Chaweng . Another plus here is the burger restaurant ‘Stacked‘ that fulfills all your cravings for a juicy burger and crispy fries.
Thanks to the team of Amari Koh Samui for the invitation. This invitation didn’t influence my review and this post reflects my own opinion.
