As I already told you in Cyber Week/ Black Friday Shopping Guide, I’m a big fan of responsible shopping. Conscious consumption and responsible shopping comes in many different forms, whether it’s a vintage piece (secondhand shopping = environmental friendly) or whether it is an item that has been on your wish list for a long time and that you know you’ll wear it for multiple seasons and years.
So there are many ways to act environmental friendly and shop responsibly – please have a look below at some of my suggestions. Each of these recommendations are coming from my heart and you can be sure that I’m an honest fan of each of the labels named below.
Fashionable & fair
Eco fashion still gets that label of not being fashionable and chic but: Jan’n June will prove this thesis wrong – for good. The Hamburg-based label produces locally in Europe (Poland and Portugal) under fair conditions. Their collection offers timeless classics, but always with a fashionable twist – so the pieces will stay in your wardrobe for a long time. Plus, you can shop for your boyfriend/ brother/ father as well – the men’s range is supercool too!
Responsible fine jewelry
Gifting jewelry is always a good idea – whether it’s for your friend, sister or mum or someone else that you want to give something special to. For some years now, I like to invest in long-lasting pieces that will stay for you much longer than fashion jewelry could ever do. My newest discovery: responsible fine jewelry from dear darling berlin. Their necklaces and bracelets are made from recycled sterling silver and gold-plated and are being produced locally in Germany.
Handbags made for eternity
If you are looking for a very special gift for a special women in your life – the bags from Agneel are real treasures. Beautifully designed and made from highest quality leather from Italy, the bags are made in Turkey and will last a lifetime. The minimalistic design of each bag is the perfect connection between form and functionality.
Another idea to act responsibly is shopping for vintage treasures – whether it’s in your local secondhand shop or online, for example at Rebelle or Vestiaire Collective. Both are perfectly organized and offering a wide range of lovely finds. I made several bargains already, for example Gucci pumps for 60€ or an (old) Bottega Venetag bag for less than 100€. So keep an eye out and adding items to your wishlist is the easiest to check for price offers.
Perfect for the stylish friend, that already has the most amazing pieces in her closet (or to gift yourself 😉 ): the accessories from Seulement en detail. Whether it’s a statement collar to pair with sweaters and coats or a mock shirt to imitate blouses/ shirts for the office: the combination possbilities are endless. Plus, the collars are amazingly manufactured in Venice, Italy.
