Hey Loves, after my last two Majorca posts Ð find the Shopping guide for Palma de Majorca here and the trip to Cala Figuera here Ð todayÕs blogpost is all about beaches. Luckily, we were in one of the most beautiful areas of the island: Cala DÕor, which is in the south. Here youÕll find so many nice beaches and bays, so nearly all of the below mentioned beaches are in the south of Majorca. Definitely, I would recommend renting a car and discover the beautiful island by yourself. And here are some of my favorite beaches and bays on Majorca:
Calo Des Moro
Well this one is probably the most known one, as it has been on Instagram and Pinterest for some time now. But the hype is real: Calo Des Moro (or Cap des Moro) is famous for its turquoise water and the beautiful surrounding of the bay. You wonÕt be able to get directly to the beach, so youÕll need to park your car around 1- 1.5km away and walk the rest. (Be aware that youÕll get a ticket otherwise Ð as parking is forbidden in the closer area.)
Also, if you want to have the beach all for yourself, you need to come early. During the day it can get quite busy and more and more (mostly young) tourists are arriving. But donÕt worry: you can discover beautiful Cap des Moro, take some pictures & then walk to the next bay which is right next to it: Cala SÕAlmunia.
Cala S’almunia
As Cap des Moro was already quite busy when we arrived, we decided to take the short walk to the next bay. The water and the beach is almost as turquoise here and you can relax in a calmer surrounding. Also, the bay of Cala S’Almunia is perfect for snorkeling as there arenÕt too many people around. Furthermore, the Mirador Es Pontas (see below) is only a short drive from here, so you could combine these three bays/ beaches on one trip.
Cala Llombards
Cala Llombards is famous for its picturesque doors and ÒhousesÓ build within the rocks. So you can wander around the whole bay to take beautiful pictures but there is also a (sand) beach which is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Also, the view from the top of the rocks is more than amazing! Definitely one of my favorite trips that we did on Majorca. 🙂
Cala D’or | Cala Esmeralda
Ê
Our hotel was directly in Cala DÕOr next to the beach of Cala Esmeralda/ Cala Des Corrals and we were more than happy about this! The beach is small but really beautiful and you can walk around the whole area onto the rocks. Also, you can get to next bay which is Cala Ferrera and offers amazing views too. Not to forget, youÕll also have the options here to do some diving and also stand-up paddling which is perfect if you want to get a little bit more active. 😉
Es Pontas
The view point of Es Pontas is another popular scene of Majorca. Maybe you already saw the huge portal on an Instagram picture? Definitely, it is one of the most impressing motives on the Spanish island. And, as mentioned before, it is near to Calo des Moro and Cala SÕAlmunia, which makes it easy to connect these three targets on one trip.
