PALMA DE MALLORCA

Hey babes, after my little blog break IÕm back today with some first impressions from our holidays on Mallorca. One of the trips that we did was to the capital of the island: Palma de Mallorca. So maybe you remember already my post from last year where I shared some photos and tips with you?

This time, IÕd like to focus rather on the shopping part and Ð going hand in hand with that Ð my outfit. Why? Because the food part was not as amazing as expected. Maybe we just had a bad timing thoughÉ . For example, when we arrived at the hyped ÒLa MoliendaÓ, the well-known avocado toast was already sold out so that the picturesque Avo bread could not be ordered anymore. Well, you can guess how disappointed I was?!

Apart from that, we took a long walk to the new-hipster quarter of Santa Catalina. But in the early afternoon, the neighborhood was almost dead. The fancy restaurant, cafŽs, shops and bars Ð all of them were closed or in siesta or preparing for the dinner guests. So despite the fact, that I read so much amazing stuff about Santa Catalina, we were a bit disappointed. Probably it is a lovely place in the evening Ðso donÕt make the same mistake that we did and come here during daytime. 😉

SHOPPING IN PALMA

So you can see Ð we were not really lucky regarding the food in Palma. But that was not too bad, as we had even more time to wander around the cute little streets and drop in some shops. Of course we also walked inside Cathedral La Seu, which is the most famous landmark of Palma. Afterwards, you should definitely get lost around the little streets around the cathedral, which will lead you automatically to the shopping boulevards. Definitely, you should stop by the biggest market hall ÒMercat de LÕOlivarÓ with lots of traditional food and specialties Ð perfect also for delicious souvenirs. Just around the corner youÕll also find the Placa de Olivar and Placa Major Ð inbetween them, you have lots of opportunities to drop into Stradivarius, Pull & Bear and many more retailers.

Also, donÕt forget to step inside my favorite shoe shop in Palma: Ulanka, which has two stores justÊ besides the Placa Major. If you still havenÕt found what you are looking for, then you should wander along the Passeig del Born. Here you can also find the best (and biggest!!) ZARA store in Palma.

OUTFIT W/ GLENCHECK BLAZER

Fun fact by the way: even though it was 26 degrees and the sun burnt when we visited Palma, I only shopped fall/ winter essentials: a huge red scarf, a pair of thigh-high Overknees and a heavy knit jumper in offwhite. Did not really make sense at that moment but IÕm pretty proud that IÕve been so forward-looking with this grey and rainy weather her in Berlin. 😉

Another fall essential that I already took with me to Majorca is this Glencheck Blazer. Probably by now you already know that Glencheck and checked items are a huge trend this fall (again). So after the Gingham and Vichy patterns that already surrounded us this spring/ summer, we now fall in love with the traditional black-and white plaid. Apart from this blazer, I already have my eyes on some cool cigarette pants or a nice pencil skirt. How about you Ð did you already shop some Glencheck pieces ? ?

Glencheck Blazer: Bershka | Skirt: H&M | Belt: Gucci | Body: H&M | Loafer: River Island
